Building Independence From the First Day
Back-to-school season is also an opportunity to establish routines that encourage independence.
Simple responsibilities—putting away belongings, preparing for the day, choosing work, caring for classroom materials, and cleaning up afterward—help children understand that they are capable of contributing to their environment.
These everyday experiences may seem small, but they are an important part of developing confidence, responsibility, concentration, and self-discipline.
