WHY GROUPS WITH MIXED AGES?

Classroom materials create challenging enough to produce a response learning, so they must be properly combined with the level that a particular child has reached in its past experience.

As experience is so varied, the most satisfying option usually is that one where the child takes the initiative. That is why the Montessori classroom offers the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of materials. Thus, the child can grow when his interests lead him from a level of complexity to another. Also, having three to six years children together allows younger children observe models for imitation and let the older have the opportunity to strengthen their own knowledge by helping the younger ones.
